Its VR adaptation is by far the best I have seen in a space combat game, particularly respect to the controllers. They took the best from X Rebirth: handling the ship with arm movements on regular VR controllers and shooting by pointing with the helmet (all these is optional though). And they added up some of the throttle control from Eve Valkyrie: throttle-braking fight. The ship lacks some movements that would be good in combat, like strafe sideways/up-down, and in general, the ship seems lacking agility. Also, the speed doesn´t feel very real. Graphics are really good, and the game is very fun in general. I have tried at least 4 VR space combat games, and this is the one that brings the best combat VR experience so far. Your ship can be upgraded but I´m not sure if you get a different one as the story progresses. It also has a nice old-style single player campaign, with a continuity that I haven’t seen for a while. The story is not that interesting, but it is continuous, and it makes sense from level to level. This is not a game like X Rebirth and Elite, which IMO are more like Space simulators. IMO those are much better games, but if you are looking for a Space combat Freespace style (not Freelancer style), then you should definitely try this.. One of the only VR games to cause me to get nauseous. After 20-30 minutes I lost the will to keep playing and decided to request a refund. My time in the game is limited so I can't give a full review however a thumbs down indicates I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS GAME. This isn't an indepth review just my personal recommendatoin. The little I did see in my 30 minutes of play time did not interest me at all. Combat and graphics were merely ok. Getting into a space ship, specifially in VR, should be exciting. A simple comparision would be your first minute piloting your mech in Arch Angel. I know its on rails and not a completely fair comparison but the instant you take the controls you're excited. I never felt immersed, intrigued or impressed and I feel your money might be better spent elsewhere. For those giving me grief about the review. Motion sickness is a serious issue for some VR gamers. I however am NOT one of them. Users should be informed as they might have a sensitivity. Again I have never had another game bother me. The only game to induce the mildest of symptoms was lone echo and since I enjoyed the game I was able to battle through it and quickly adapted. While maybe I would have also adapted to End Space there was nothing compelling me to keep playing. I could have experimented with different control settings which may have alleviated my symptoms but my preference was to refund the game.. End Space is a nice Space Shooter in VR.The game focusses on Action, the ship is easy to master (there are only some buttons you need) and it works perfectly with a HOTAS stick. The graphics and the effects are also nice.It is definitely worth the money!. So far I am really digging this game - You have to tweak it in for the best experience though (which is ulike any other VR game). Anyhow, I never played Elite Dangerous, which some people love and others say it's extremely boring. This game is misson-based but easy to understand and lots of action to keep you feeling like a hero.. So far my favorite game as far as incorporating VR and the VR controllers into a first person flying style game. The game play is a lot of fun, my complaints would be that I found the upgrade system limited and that I ended up not being able to spend my credits on anything, would be nice to be able to buy different ships too, and it didnt have a long enough story or really feel like it had an ending. I ended up playing the last mission twice because I thought it glitched out and didnt load the next mission. Took just under 10 hours to beat and I really spent my time with everything. I would recommend the game though as I really enjoyed it overall.. Can't Launches the game .Screen just black. I have just started getting into this game. But basically, I think it is great! The minute I connected my JOYSTICK EXTREME 3D PRO and realized that I could use the hat and trigger to configure the controls at will and then fly with ease I fell in love. This game is very simple, but it is sheer dogfighting fun with decent graphics. I have tried games like Elite Frontier and X3, but I think there is something those developers are missing. Some people don’t want to have to study in order to be able to play a game, they want to jump in the cockpit and become Christopher Blair (Maverick from Wing Commander), an ace pilot. This game is basically a space shooter arcade with a very short storyline. But imagine if they took this flight engine and added it to an open world, does not need to be as complex as the world of Elite or even Star Citizen, just a something as simple as Freelancer (my favorite space sim ever) and you have a dream come true. I don’t care about physics, I want to trade, discover and be the ace pilot. Having said that, this game is fun and worth checking out!If I were to keep it to simple suggestions they would be:1. Have a carrier/base launch sequence - for example the launch in Eve is amazing2. Have a carrier landing sequence, approach a enter a gate at the base/carrier to land.. A lightweight space shooter, in comparison to the likes of Elite Dangerous, but nevertheless a good one. The story i've seen so far is linear, but you can go back and redo the missions as you like and earn more money to upgrade your ships. The controlls are easy, control pitch, yaw and roll with your head and fire with a controller. You'll pick this up quickly during a tutorial, and off you go to shoot up enemies. I sincerely wish that Elite had option for the same controls as i have flown like this in another VR flyer (AirDrift) which made the whole flying thing quite natural. The game reminds me a bit about Wing Commander in the sense that you are dropped into a combat zone, shoot stuff, then you move on. I'd say that if you like space shooters, don't wait around for it to appear on a sale, it's a good game and unlike so many other VR games that are only tech-demos, i don't regret buying it. I'd say that this is at least a 3/5.. Was hoping for something along the lines of good old privateer but in VR. Instead I got a half baked arcade game. I imagine it's much better with a controller, but I will not use a controller in VR. Kind of defeats the whole purpose of VR, which is immersion. Apart from the horrendous, jumpy as hell, control of the ship via the Vive controllers (and I've tried every possible control method, including flight by gaze/left/right joystick/thumbpad), the graphics and voice acting are passable for this price range, but the gameplay.. boy it gets repetitive quick. Go here, kill these guys, repeat. Not a lot of interactions. No different outcomes by your actions, no different paths to victory, no jumping factions or going rogue.Only two weapons and only two upgrades per weapon. Oversimplified upgrades, combat, missions.. everything is oversimplified to a point that it looks like an indie proof of concept and not a full game. You choose the weapon upgrades from a text menu. No images of the weapons at all, let alone a proper 3D model. If you look back at your ship after upgrading weapons, it looks the same. I don't remember if they sound the same when fired but I wouldn't be surprised if they do. Not a lot of attention to detail there.I imagine it would have been much more enjoyable if the game had some kind of a true open world feeling, a sandbox element, factions, a proper NON LINEAR storyline, with side missions, proper *non-weapons related* upgrades (say, engine, shields, etc) and a true sense of open space, where you could go anywhere, dock at will with space stations and land on planets, etc etc.I'll keep waiting for a real rogue/privateer/freelancer equivalent game and enjoy From Other Suns, which is far from perfect but much closer to home for me. End Space 1.0.4 - The Collective Update Patch Notes: We are extremely excited to release the new ‘Collective Update’ for End Space on August 2nd. End Space originally released 2.5 years ago for the Gear VR and since then we have brought it to PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Windows Mixed Reality, and most recently Oculus Go. With every release on a new platform the last platform suffered from a lack of attention while we tried to get the next platform ready. As you may know End Space is made just by Lee and I. Since the Gear VR release I have had two babies, and Lee is still celebrating his first baby born just two weeks ago. We try to do our best but it’s not easy becoming fathers, starting a business, and working on a game across so many platforms.Sadly that meant the PlayStation VR version hasn’t had an update since December, Rift and Vive since March. Every release also has made the game better and better but not everyone has benefited from those changes. Our PlayStation VR community has had to endure a less than perfect experience filled with bugs and crashes, while the Steam community found the game to be not challenging enough with a bug making the player invincible. This has lead to bad reviews, player frustration and stress for us because we want End Space to be great for everyone. So starting August 2nd every platform will be updated to End Space 1.0.4 the ‘Collective Update’. We are going to do our best moving forward when releasing a patch that every platform receives the same update (unless it’s platform specific). In creating the Collective Update we have taken every piece of feedback, every review, and every fan email into consideration to craft the best update to End Space yet. We have improved the graphics, made the game more challenging, fixed crashes, bugs and pain points, and made the game a much more enjoyable experience. We hope you enjoy playing this new update regardless of what platform you choose to experience End Space on.Fly safe,JustinEnd Space 1.0.4 - The Collective Update Patch Notes.
